Walker Ranch
Walker Ranch is a moderately difficult trail with a little of everything. Steep rocky sections; rolling singletrack through grassy fields; tight switchbacks; three foot drops. It's all there.
Take an Extreme or a Shift.
Switzerland Trail
The Switzerland Trail is a long easy to moderate fireroad-style trail. An old railroad bed, the trail never gets steeper than 4% grade. Rocky and rough in places, with a spectacular view from the top.

Betasso Loop
The Betasso Loop is a short (~4 miles) singletrack loop on Sugarloaf Mountain. The trail is reasonably easy, but fun for all skill levels. Ups, downs, jumps, and even a couple of small creek crossings. The trail is closed to bikes on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Take a Rainier, XtC, Shift, or Extreme.
Heil Ranch
Hall Ranch is an 8.1 mile loop: 1 mile on double track, the rest on singletrack. It is a moderate trail, with a fair bit of climbing, though none very steep. Parts of the trail are rocky, and there tends to be some loose sand and gravel on the upper loop. Great views. A good trail for advanced beginner through expert.This trail is popular with cyclists and hikers, and you may also encounter equestrians..

Hall Ranch
Hall Ranch is a 10 mile singletrack loop outside the town of Lyons, 12 miles north of Boulder. It's a great, moderately difficult trail with lots of variety and terrific views of the valley and the mountains. The second mile of the trail is a fairly steep, technical climb with numerous rocky sections and switchbacks. Beyond there, you are rewarded with easier going on smoother, fast, singletrack around the upper loop through the trees, and return the way you came no the steep, rocky section of trail.
